Sweep is hiring a Senior Platform & Sustainability Expert, playing an important role in how Sweep helps organisations across the world navigate their sustainability journey.

Working as part of our Customer Engineering team and alongside our Delivery team, you will bring strong sustainability knowledge to the moments that matter most; sharpening the advice our teams can give, strengthening the confidence of our customers, and helping our customers move further, faster on their sustainability programmes.

This role sits at the heart of Sweep's customer-facing organisation, collaborating closely with Delivery, Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Support teams.

You will act as a multiplier: someone whose knowledge, curiosity, and judgment helps elevate the work of those around them.

You will work with a varied range of customers; from those just beginning their sustainability journey to those with established programmes and specialist teams in place.

In all cases, your role is to meet them where they are: providing practical sustainability guidance and reassurance that helps them move forward with confidence.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who has built solid sustainability expertise and is ready to apply it in a more varied, scalable, and technology-enabled environment.

You will contribute your expertise internally, engage credibly with customers' ESG teams, and play an active part in how Sweep continues to evolve its customer experience, content, and product offering.

To be more specific, this includes

  • 1. Enabling & Amplifying Your Colleagues
  • Serve as a key internal sustainability reference within the Customer Engineering team, supporting Platform & Sustainability Experts in our Delivery team to tackle complex customer questions with confidence; including reviewing outputs and providing clear & actionable guidance before and during engagements.
  • Take ownership of continuous internal sustainability enablement; running regular sessions, updates, and training to keep the Delivery team current on regulatory developments, evolving methodologies, and emerging customer questions.
  • Build and maintain practical internal knowledge resources; regulatory summaries, guidance notes, Q&A banks; that allow the wider team to act quickly and accurately.
  • Contribute sustainability expertise to wider Sweep teams; including Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Support; as relevant.
  • 2. Customer & Partner Advisory
  • Be deployed directly with customers across their lifecycle; from presales through implementation and into long-term partnership; to provide ad-hoc sustainability guidance at the moments it's needed most.
  • Offer a knowledgeable, reassuring presence on methodology and reporting questions: helping customers validate their approach, navigate specific challenges, and move forward with confidence; without taking over their sustainability programme.
  • Support long‑term customers as the regulatory landscape evolves, providing timely, practical input that helps them stay on track.
  • Act as a sparring partner for Sweep's certified consultant network when relevant; a resource they can lean on for sustainability methodology questions as they work with customers.
  • 3. Presales & Commercial Support
  • Be brought into presales processes where sustainability depth matters; particularly for sophisticated prospects who want to stress‑test Sweep's credentials.
  • Work closely with regional Delivery Managers to support presales activity, helping articulate and bring to life the sustainability expertise and guidance customers can expect throughout their journey with Sweep.
  • Help commercial teams articulate how Sweep supports real sustainability outcomes, translating product capabilities into the language of various stakeholders in our customer organisations.
  • Serve as a key internal stakeholder on proposals and RFPs, contributing sustainability expertise to support the teams driving those processes.
  • 4. Product, Knowledge & Scalable Customer Education
  • Develop strong working knowledge of the Sweep platform; enough to speak confidently about how its capabilities address real sustainability challenges, and to bridge the gap between customer needs and platform configuration.
  • Design, create, and maintain 1-to-many sustainability content for customers: including e‑learning modules, webinars, structured training sessions, and written resources that help customers and their teams build sustainability knowledge at scale.
  • Help ensure this content stays current as regulations, frameworks, and best practices evolve; making Sweep's sustainability education practical, relevant, and easy to use.
  • Channel insights from customer conversations and the external sustainability landscape into Sweep's Product team, helping inform roadmap discussions in line with regulatory developments and market expectations.
  • Use AI tools thoughtfully across all dimensions of the role; from research and content creation to knowledge management and customer preparation; to increase the reach and quality of your work.

That sounds just right for me. What do I need to bring?

Glad you asked. This is who we’re looking for

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in a sustainability-focused role, ideally spanning consulting, advisory, customer-facing work, or sustainability technology
  • Strong working knowledge of carbon accounting and product carbon footprint and how it is evolving; including but not limited to GHG Protocol, scope 3 methodologies, data quality and assurance; with a clear understanding of the practical data challenges these create for organisations
  • Strong applied understanding of science-based targets (SBTi) and corporate climate transition planning, and what their implementation means in practice for companies managing complex data environments
  • Solid and applied understanding of voluntary reporting frameworks (CDP, GRI, TCFD) and key regulatory frameworks, such as:
  • CSRD (ESRS, VSME, DMA development)
  • ISSB / IFRS S1 & S2
  • US frameworks (SB 261, SB 253)
  • UK Sustainability Reporting Standards (UKSRS)
  • Other evolving global standards
  • ... including a strong grasp of the underlying data requirements and challenges these frameworks impose on organisations
  • Experience explaining complex sustainability topics clearly and credibly to varied audiences; from data owners and sustainability managers to senior stakeholders
  • Genuine curiosity about technology and a willingness to develop strong working fluency with Sweep's platform as a tool for enabling customer sustainability programmes
  • Confidence using AI tools across different dimensions of work; from research and content creation to knowledge sharing and customer preparation
  • Excellent written and spoken English. French is a very strong plus
  • Qualities
  • Thrive in a varied, fast-paced role; you're energised by the breadth of this position, comfortable switching context across different customers, teams, and topics, and see that variety as one of its greatest strengths
  • Are genuine sustainability experts who stay actively engaged with a fast‑evolving field; and who enjoy sharing what they know
  • See enabling others as a core part of their impact, and take satisfaction in the success of a team as much as their own individual contribution
  • Are comfortable and credible in front of a wide range of stakeholders with varying levels of sustainability maturity; from teams just starting out to seasoned ESG professionals
  • Know how to translate deep expertise into practical, grounded guidance; not just citing frameworks, but helping people understand what to actually do
  • Thrive in a cross‑functional environment, working fluidly across Delivery, Presales, Product, Customer Success, and Support to get the best outcome for customers
  • Are particularly drawn to the idea of applying their sustainability expertise in a more scalable, technology-enabled way; combining customer guidance, enablement, content creation, and product collaboration in a single role
  • Are committed to Sweep's mission of helping organisations build credible, meaningful sustainability programmes; and are motivated by the idea of doing that at scale
