Planner (Water)

We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, which will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. We’ll be embarking on a new kind of project delivery focusing on nature‑based solutions like wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

What will you be doing as our new Planner? As our new Planner, you’ll take ownership of the project plan, drive the project team to deliver to the plan and challenge any delay and deviation. You will be a key member of a wholly collaborative team and will use your experience, enthusiasm and skills to help the team drive efficiency and outperformance.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure project plans capture the full project scope and resources are considered and loaded as required.
• Pro‑actively identify opportunities and risks in the plan.
• Monitor the critical path and key milestones, advising the delivery team on any potential changes and leading challenge and mitigation actions.
• Develop 4D animations of the project plan to aid digital rehearsal of the project construction.
• Design and implement effective and value‑added communication plans ensuring relevant teams and individuals are clear and buy into the strategy and approach.
• Appreciate and uphold the Health & Safety standards in all planning processes with the mantra of ‘Nothing is so important that we cannot take the time to do it safely’ at the heart of all activities.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you’ll have demonstrable experience of working on relevant projects within the Civil engineering sector, preferably in the Water Industry. You’ll require P6 experience and have led collaborative planning processes, interrogating information from drawings to implement an efficient planning service. Strong communication skills to convey complex information to diverse audiences under pressure and tight deadlines, and an innovative, supportive attitude to enhance the Planning team’s reputation are essential.
