The Role Design Manager – responsible for leading a multi‑disciplinary engineering team (15–20 people) delivering a £110 million portfolio of wastewater treatment projects across multiple catchments.

The role focuses on phosphorus removal, storm overflow reduction and future growth using a holistic, place‑based approach.

Key Responsibilities Lead design delivery across a portfolio of complex wastewater projects.

Manage engineering plans covering scope, programme, cost, risk and resources.

Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver outcomes.

Drive affordability, sustainability and low‑carbon design solutions.

Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and champion health Chartered or working towards.

Experience leading engineering teams and delivering design on capital projects.

Knowledge of CDM regulations and design responsibilities.

Wastewater or utilities experience desirable.

Strong leadership, collaboration and problem‑solving skills.

Passion for sustainability, innovation and continuous improvement.
