Do you have what it takes to transform society? We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our team.
What does the role involve?
As our Senior Sustainability Consultant, you will support the delivery of a wide variety of projects within a multidisciplinary design team for several key clients. This will cover building sustainability and energy aspects from project feasibility through to detailed design and construction support, as well as post-occupancy building performance studies.
Key Duties Will Include:
- Project Delivery
- Undertaking studies of energy regulation compliance and HVAC systems design.
- Engaging with wider team members at concept design stage to drive sustainability outcomes.
- Coordinating with Project Managers the programme and information required for dynamic modelling and energy studies for individual projects.
- Recommending and implementing improvements to design solutions and processes, and sharing via the knowledge management channels.
- Working closely with the Building Services team to establish scope of services and model building performance for actual energy.
- Assisting the Building Services team in the innovation of new technologies.
- Financial/Commercial Management and Tender Activity
- Managing time allocation in execution of projects.
- Demonstrating commercial awareness in recognising risks and opportunities arising during project execution.
- Business Development
- Undertaking client-facing role at appropriate levels within client organisation that builds long-lasting client relationships.
- Supporting and driving out behaviours that support excellent CRM.
To be successful in this role you’ll possess:
- A multi-disciplined buildings background, ideally supported by a degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Building Physics.
- Dynamic modelling skills, IES VE is preferable.
- Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, particularly Part L and Part F, and experience of design and sustainability strategies of building projects, for example, HVAC systems optimisation, thermal comfort and passive design strategies.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in CAD packages, preferably AutoCAD and Revit.
- A client-focused attitude with the ability to represent Sweco in discussions with, and in giving presentations to, clients' design and contracting teams.
- Familiarity with BREEAM / HQM / Code for Sustainable Homes / LEED / WELL is desirable along with knowledge of actual building performance and building optimisation platforms.
- Ability to carry out energy audits for ESOS, ISO 50001 and Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) and Building Performance Evaluation (BPE) studies would also be beneficial.
