Do you have what it takes to transform society? We are currently looking for talented and motivated Assistant Civil Engineer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary department providing detailed designs for water related projects in the UK. This role can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times.

Our water teams have a global knowhow of industry leading technologies and are providing skills and inventive solutions across the full spectrum of lifecycle services in both water engineering and wider water management.
What does the role involve?
- Working within our water team on multi-disciplinary projects, you will act as an Assistant Engineer, supporting with developing design solutions, co-ordinating with other disciplines to deliver innovative outcomes to protect people and the environment.
- You will be involved in projects from outline design to completion including:
- Developing calculations, drawings, sketches and reports to achieve the optimum solution for the project;
- Assessing, documenting and communicating design changes to the Lead Design Engineer/Project Manager;
- Being aware of scope requirements and taking personal responsibility in delivering to agreed time, cost and quality;
- Developing an in-depth knowledge of the water industry, its challenges and how to address them;
- Growing your skills, knowledge and experience of engineering in the water sector and working towards professional accreditation.
What We’re Looking For From You
- An academic qualification in a related field, such as a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Strong interpersonal/team working skills, with the ability to develop a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors together with the capability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner both verbally and written.
- Knowledge and experience of water and wastewater design including conveyance and treatment.
- An understanding of the basics and the integration of multidisciplinary elements including process engineering and MEICA.
- An understanding of design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment and contract administration.
