The Anglian Water @one Alliance is a totally collaborative organisation made up of nine partner companies (Anglian Water, SWECO, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, and Skanska) and an extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. As a Graduate (SuDS Design Engineer), you’ll play a key role in delivering innovative Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) across the Anglian Water region from schools and highways to parks and public spaces.
What you’ll be doing:
Assist in developing concept, outline, and detailed SuDS designs using Civil3D and InfoDrainage
Collaborating with internal teams (modelling, CAD, construction, landscape architects)
Support in liaising with local authorities, highways, schools, and community groups to co-design solutions
Supporting construction by fulfilling Designer responsibilities under CDM 2015
Under how we apply CIRIA guidance, British Standards, and Anglian Water design frameworks
Support in creating safe, buildable, and maintainable SuDS designs with long-term performance in mind
What we’re looking for:
A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (2:1 minimum)
Confidence working in retrofit and constrained urban environments
An understanding of drainage design standards and health & safety principles
Strong communication skills to engage technical teams and external stakeholders
A collaborative mindset and passion for sustainable, green infrastructure
