Society is in your hands — what are you waiting for? We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior Structural Engineer / Sustainability Consultant to join our Structures Team. The role is based in London, but it is a hybrid role, so you can work from home up to two days per week if you wish.

What does the role involve?

  • Project delivery
    • Managing project portals and common data environments
    • Preparing complex reports, presentation materials and technical drawings
    • Leading the production of construction details, specifications and technical submission packages
    • Contributing to tender proposals
  • Design
    • Leading design development, project coordination and the implementation of engineering solutions
  • Calculations
    • Conducting detailed and complex structural calculations using relevant software and/or by hand, in accordance with relevant codes and standards
  • Coordination and collaboration
    • Communicating effectively with the project team
    • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and liaising with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies to ensure project success
    • Participating in and leading client meetings and presentations to convey design concepts and findings
    • Supporting business development activities
  • Sustainability
    • Overseeing sustainability across our projects
    • Attending sustainability industry events
    • Helping to develop digital tools

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Advanced proficiency in software such as ETABS, SAFE, Tekla, Robot, Revit and IDEA StatiCa
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, enabling you to interact effectively with clients, architects and the wider project team
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • A thorough understanding of project delivery requirements across all design stages, including the construction process
  • Extensive experience in concrete, steel and timber design
  • A Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree would be an advantage
  • Chartered Engineer status, or working towards chartership
  • A strong interest in structural sustainability
