About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Executive to join the business at this exciting time. This is a hybrid position, ideally suited to someone based in or near Devon, offering flexibility and a friendly, professional working environment. You’ll work closely with a portfolio of SME clients across a broad range of industries, supporting them with financial processes, energetic input, bookkeeping and general financial compliance. You’ll be hands-on with the numbers and processes while also confident managing client relationships and providing a high level of service. You’ll be passionate about enterprise and play an integral part in continuing to build and shape the culture and future of the business.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain detailed and accurate financial records and working papers for SMEs up to the audit threshold
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks and take ownership of accounting systems; designing processes and implementing better practices
- Reconcile accounts, prepare VAT returns, and design & prepare management reports specific to client needs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contacts alike, acting as a reliable, trusted point of contact
- Provide energy and enthusiasm to enable the business to grow and achieve its objectives
Requirements
- AAT qualified (MAAT)
- Experience within a mid-tier accountancy firm
- Xero Advisor Certification required – we use Xero exclusively for all client work
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proactive attitude and ability to manage workload independently
Hours & Progression
This role will start at 24 hours per week, with flexibility and scope to increase hours for the right candidate as the client portfolio grows. Salary £32,000 per annum, pro rata. 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE) with potential to increase.
