Hours: Minimum 30hrs/wk (over at least 3 days)

Rota: Day shifts / Weekend rota participation required

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to become Senior Education Lead at Swayne & Partners Bury St Edmunds. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an RVN who is passionate about supporting others to develop their clinical skills and confidence. Working within our busy hospital environment, you will have the opportunity to support the development of RVNs, SVNs and the wider nursing team through coaching, mentoring and practical clinical training. You will play an important role in promoting consistent clinical standards, supporting competency development and helping to create a positive culture of learning and professional development across the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student support
  • Clinical coaching
  • Training plans for WAs
  • Competency sign offs (witness when own CC not available)
  • CPD planning
  • Organise lunch & learns
  • Coordinate practical training
  • Communicate with training colleges and complete TP audits
  • Help with tutorial planning and time with students for other CCs
  • Take on the role of training practice principle
  • Work collaboratively with vets, nurses, VCAs, and reception teams
  • Contribute to maintaining high clinical and hygiene standards throughout the practice

About You:

  • Qualified and registered RVN
  • Is a positive role model and can lead by example
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Is proactive, adaptable, and compassionate
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to patient care and clinical excellence
  • Has an interest in developing advanced nursing skills
  • Able to commit to at least 30hr week across a minimum of 3 days and participate in the weekend rota.
