The Role

As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the Finance function by delivering accurate and timely financial processing, reconciliations, and reporting. The role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial data across the general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and bank reconciliations, while contributing to month‑end processes and financial analysis. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager and working with the broader Finance team, you will assist in driving efficient operations, continuous improvement, and high‑quality internal service delivery, along with supporting accounts payable, staff claims, and other ad‑hoc finance activities.

Location: Richmond (office‑based role).

  • Prepare journals, accruals, and assist with month‑end close
  • Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including depreciation
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Analyse and allocate freight costs
  • Support accounts payable and staff expense processing
  • Assist with reporting and responding to internal finance queries
  • Contribute to process improvements within the Finance function
  • Provide various reports including marketing reports on request
  • Assist in following up queries
  • Assist Financial Accounting Manager with ad‑hoc reports when required such as FBT
