Job Description
This full‑time position is a proactive and detail‑oriented paralegal role supporting the Legal Counsel in managing day‑to‑day legal operations. The role ensures compliance across retail activities, assists with contracts, data protection, regulatory matters, and builds a legal career in a commercial, customer‑focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and manage commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, NDAs, and leases.
- Support legal queries from internal stakeholders and maintain legal databases, contract registers, and filing systems.
- Conduct legal research and prepare briefing notes; liaise with internal departments to support legal queries.
- Manage legal documentation for store openings, closures, refurbishments, and board materials.
- Monitor changes in legislation relevant to the Company operations and implement statutory compliance requirements.
- Assist with audits, disputes, litigation preparation, and legal invoicing and budget tracking.
Profile
- Law degree required (LLB).
- Previous paralegal or legal assistant experience, ideally in retail, commercial, or property law.
- Familiarity with UK employment law, intellectual property law, consumer protection law, competition law, and data protection laws (including GDPR).
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
- Proactive, collaborative, commercially aware mindset.
