We require an enthusiastic, organised and confident individual to join our finance team, based at Trust Headquarters, Exeter and making use of homeworking. The role is responsible for supporting the delivery of an efficient and effective management accounting service and you will work within a busy financial management team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the team in the day to day function in the provision of a highly professional and efficient management accountancy service.
- Using Excel for preparing journals.
- Supporting the month end closedown process.
- Carrying out tasks to assist the wider finance team.
The successful candidates will be willing to undertake studies to obtain an AAT qualification that will allow you to develop within the role and be considered for senior posts within the team.
This job will cover a range of tasks that will help the team meet its deadlines and targets. This work will help the candidate with their accountancy studies and prepare them for future roles in finance. Tasks include:
- Preparing monthly excel schedules for finance team to complete.
- Keeping records of reports and queries up to date, and chasing responses from budget holders.
- Assisting the month end process with posting journals.
- Helping other team members while developing your accountancy skills.

Person Specification:
- Minimum of 7 GCSE's of C and above including Maths and English or equivalent.
- Able to meet the requirements of the Knowledge and Skills Framework for their role.
- Willing to undertake the AAT qualification.
- Studying for AAT qualification.
- Experience of working within a financial environment.
- Experience of working within a team.
- National Health Service experience.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Experience of Microsoft Software packages particularly spreadsheets (Excel).
- High levels of numeracy.
- Knowledge and experience of financial systems.
- Experience of using Oracle.
