Swarland Avenue Surgery is looking to expand our GP team by appointing a 4 - 5 session Salaried GP. Thanks to our supportive team and culture, the practice provides a small, friendly and traditional working environment. We value teamworking and the GP team meet daily for clinical discussions. This post will be partially funded via the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). We are therefore looking to appoint a GP who is within 2 years of completing their training and has not previously held a substantive GP post. We welcome applicants who will be obtaining their CCT by spring 2026.
Main duties of the jobWe are looking for a compassionate and motivated GP to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical care, including diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to our patients. Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting patient consultations and examinations.
- Diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions.
- Prescribing medication and managing repeat prescriptions.
- Providing preventive care and health education.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Participating in clinical meetings and contributing to practice development.
- Supporting the training and development of other clinical staff, GP trainees and medical students.
The practice cares for approximately 6700 patients in our single site practice. Our supportive team consists of:
- 4 GP Partners
- An experienced nursing team, including an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants
- Clinical staff are supported by a committed administrative team led by our Practice Manager and Operational Manager.
Clinical services are provided by our Primary Care Network both in-house and at the PCN clinical hub. These include daily GP/ACP/Practice Nurse/HCA appointments. First Contact Physiotherapy and Mental Health appointments are also provided.
Job responsibilitiesThe post holder will undertake routine GP duties within a structured team approach. Time for personal CPD will be provided. Support and mentorship will be provided. Please see Main Duties above for more information.
Person SpecificationQualifications:
- MBBS / MRCGP
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- Inclusion on NHS England Performers List
- Valid driving licence
- Interest in teaching and supporting learners
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check
