Your Challenge

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Team. In this role, you will be the primary finance partner for the UK manufacturing facility in Melsonby (£1m cost base) with potential expansion, the Business Partner for North Region Signs and Signals Operations (£24m turnover), and the Business Partner to the R&D Department (£2m annual spend), ensuring appropriate capitalisation levels.

The role is based in Basingstoke but requires travel to Melsonby and Richmond, with 2-3 overnight stays quarterly.

Key responsibilities

1. Support UK manufacturing facility in analyzing efficiency, break-even, and cost recoverability.
2. Analyze how the manufacturing facility drives value and supports operations.
3. Assist in the implementation and execution of manufacturing expansion plans.
4. Support management through month-end reporting, analysis, budgets, and forecasts.
5. Calculate standards costs and labour rates.
6. Challenge management constructively and suggest improvements.
7. Support stock reporting and materials management.
8. Conduct regular finance reviews with management and report to Finance Director and SLT.
9. Manage cost centre reporting and cost structure in SAP.
10. Develop and monitor key finance KPIs for manufacturing.
11. Investigate operational results in the North region and recommend improvements.
12. Ensure rigorous financial monitoring across the North region.
13. Collaborate with Engineering and R&D teams on project prioritization and capitalisation.
14. Assist with month-end reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Your Profile

• CIMA/ACA/ACCA Qualified
• SAP experience beneficial
• Manufacturing, service, or project experience preferred
• Knowledge of stock management, costing, and provisions
• Influencing skills across functions
• Proactive self-starter with continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to implement efficiency initiatives and manage time effectively
• Prioritization skills and flexibility
• Team player
• Technical and modelling skills (intermediate to advanced)
• Excel proficiency (intermediate to advanced)
• Data presentation skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Good understanding of finance principles
• Right to work in the UK
• Full UK Driving Licence
