We have an exciting opportunity for a Traffic Signal Installer / Trainee Traffic Signal Installer to join our growing team in Featherstone. Whether you already have installation experience or are looking to develop a career within the traffic technology industry, this role offers excellent training, development and long-term career opportunities within a global technology business.
You will be involved in the installation, refurbishment, maintenance and repair of traffic signals and other electrical street infrastructure, helping to deliver projects that improve road safety and traffic flow across the UK.
- Install, refurbish and maintain traffic signal equipment and associated infrastructure.
- Support the installation and maintenance of street-based electrical equipment including CCTV, street lighting and barrier systems.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, customers and contractors on site.
- Follow company procedures, Health & Safety requirements and industry regulations.
- Support project delivery activities and contribute to successful installations.
Key Tasks
- Installation and commissioning of traffic signal equipment.
- Refurbishment and repair of existing traffic signal assets.
- Installation and maintenance of associated electrical street furniture and systems.
- Carry out site-based works safely and professionally.
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment and PPE.
- Attend training courses and development programmes as required.
- Support colleagues and contribute positively to team performance.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Strong electrical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors and at height.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Electrical installation or maintenance experience.
- Experience within traffic signals, street lighting, highways, utilities or related industries.
- Experience working on site-based infrastructure projects.
