We have a requirement for a Linux Software Development Engineer to join our engineers' teams in Leicester working on UK integration of the most widely deployed Traffic Light Controller in the world.
What you will do
- You will play a key role in the ongoing development of our software products, help maintain the highest quality and security standards, design new services and enhance existing ones.
- Develop Linux software for a traffic light controller in the UK.
- Co-develop supporting tools, primarily in Python.
- Develop an understanding of regulations, market requirements and traffic control in the UK and turn that into actionable changes for a global product in a local market.
- Implement, document and test software solutions using C++ and possibly GoLang and/or Python.
- Design new applications and enhance existing ones.
- Work with colleagues in an international environment.
- Daily work in an agile environment, develop and optimize processes and best practices.
- Interpret customer requirements specifications generating functional requirements documentation for software development.
- Maintain software development to company quality standards while helping to attain the highest security standards for our systems.
- Look at improvements to the development process to maintain the leading-edge software development tools and techniques used for continuous improvement.
Your Profile
- 2:1 or better Degree in BSc Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years Linux software development experience.
- Working with Git code management and workflow processes.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
