What you will do
SWARCO UK is seeking a Junior Project Engineer (Fixed Term) based in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at an early stage in their engineering career to gain hands‑on experience in testing, compliance, and real‑world product validation. You will support the delivery of engineering test programmes, helping ensure our products meet required standards before deployment on live roadside infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering teams, contributing to testing activities, resolving technical issues, and supporting compliance processes. The role includes UK travel and occasional overnight stays, with full training provided.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting engineering and compliance testing of products and equipment
- Contributing to the creation and maintenance of detailed test plans
- Recording and analysing test results accurately
- Supporting product approvals and compliance with industry standards
- Collaborating with Embedded Engineers to resolve software and hardware issues
- Assisting with troubleshooting of equipment, including roadside systems
- Identifying opportunities to improve testing processes, including automation
On a day‑to‑day basis, you will:
- Carry out hands‑on testing of electronic and mechanical systems
- Assist in diagnosing faults and technical issues
- Record test outcomes and maintain accurate documentation
- Support engineers in resolving product or system issues
- Work with internal teams to ensure compliance requirements are met
- Occasionally travel to sites to support testing or troubleshooting activities
- Learn and develop technical skills within a structured environment
Profile
What we are looking for:
- Basic understanding of electronic and mechanical principles
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full, clean UK driving licence
Desirable:
