APT SKIDATA Ltd is a joint venture between SWARCO AG and ASSA ABLOY, delivering integrated parking management, access control and digital mobility solutions across the UK and Ireland. We work with airports, healthcare providers, retail destinations, local authorities and transport operators to deliver reliable, secure and innovative parking and mobility services.
We are looking for a Technical Services Manager to lead and develop our Technical Services function. This key leadership role is responsible for improving operational performance, providing technical leadership and oversight, managing complex technical escalations, and developing team capability across our technical support, software support and wider technical services functions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the Technical Services team and day‑to‑day operational performance
- Managing complex technical escalations, major incidents and problem resolution
- Driving SLA/KPI performance and reducing backlog issues
- Defining and maintaining technical standards, upgrade planning and software lifecycle management
- Developing team capability, training and progression pathways
- Improving communication and collaboration across internal departments
- Supporting hosted, software and digital platform services
- Providing technical oversight for higher‑risk upgrades, changes and customer environments
Profile
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Strong technical experience within software, hosted systems, infrastructure or technical support environments
- Demonstrable leadership capability, including the ability to influence, coach and support others
- Strong operational, organisational and escalation management skills
- Experience managing complex technical issues and customer escalations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to drive improvements in processes, technical standards and ways of working
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Previous experience leading a technical service, support or engineering team
- Experience managing major incidents
- Experience establishing technical standards, governance or software lifecycle management practices
- Experience developing technical teams and structured training programmes
- Knowledge of ITIL or service management principles
- Experience supporting hosted, cloud or digital platform services
