We are looking for a Billing Manager to own and scale a core part of Swap’s revenue engine. This is a high‑impact, strategic role where you will move beyond execution to:
- Own billing across multiple revenue streams
- Drive automation and system design
- Act as a key partner to Account Management and Tech Organisation
- Introduce AI‑driven workflows into finance operations
This role suits a problem solver that thrives in a scale‑up environment — comfortable operating both strategically and at a detailed transactional level. You’ll be as confident reviewing complex billing issues as you are improving processes, implementing systems, and solving operational bottlenecks. You will play a critical role in ensuring billing accuracy, scalability, and transparency as Swap grows globally, while building the foundations of a modern, automated finance function. The responsibilities of this role can change in line with your skills in the future and this is an opportunity to shape this role as Swap grows.
Key responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end billing across multiple revenue streams (SaaS, usage‑based, Tax, logistics), ensuring accuracy, scalability, and revenue integrity, reflecting increasing business and product complexity
- Design and evolve billing models, processes and controls aligned with product, pricing, and global expansion strategy
- Lead automation and system implementation across ERP including rollout of Netsuite with data transition and integration with billing related platforms (Senvo, Gocardless, Lightdash), and data pipelines to enable a scalable finance infrastructure.
- Drive AI adoption across billing workflows, including reconciliation, anomaly detection, and collections, particularly in the more complex agentic commerce environment
- Build and optimise order‑to‑cash workflows, improving invoicing, collections, and reducing revenue leakage.
- Establish and document policies, procedures, and best practices for new and evolving revenue streams, ensuring consistency, audit readiness, and operational clarity
- Manage rate card configuration, billing setup, and reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy across customers and handling complex customer queries and communications related to pricing and transportation
- Partner cross‑functionally (Sales, Customer Success, Revenue Operations) to drive data integrity, reporting accuracy, and continuous process improvement.
- Act as the primary finance partner to the Tech teams, translating new features, pricing, and packaging into billing logic and operational readiness
What we would like to see
- 6+ years experience in billing / revenue / AR, ideally in a high‑growth, tech or SaaS environment
- Experience managing complex or multi‑stream revenue models (usage‑based, international, multi‑currency)
- Strong background in systems implementation (e.g. NetSuite or similar ERP, billing platforms, automation and process transformation projects)
- Exposure to or strong interest in AI applications in finance operations
- Highly numerate with analytical skills, attention to detail, and advanced excel skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including customer communication and business partnering
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision in a rapidly changing environment, where you operate as both a strategic thinker and hands‑on operator
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change, taking ownership and building rather than maintaining.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving startup environment
Benefits
- Competitive base salary.
- Stock options in a high‑growth startup.
- Competitive PTO with public holidays additional.
- Private Health.
- Pension.
- Wellness benefits.
- Breakfast Mondays.
