We are looking for Support Workers who care about making every moment matter for the people we support. We support people living in Barnsley to live an independent life within their community.

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate, and committed to supporting people in a way which respects their dignity? You will need to be adaptable, flexible, with excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of our team. In addition:

  • Be able to offer person-centred support to individuals with complex needs
  • Hold or be willing to work towards a NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care

The role includes:

  • Providing practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promoting the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensuring they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
  • Completing a range of records and documents as part of the role.

Support is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

About The Service: Supporting people in their homes to live an independent life within their community. Our supported living homes are in close proximity to each other, and are nestled in the community of Darfield. We offer person centred support to some very complex individuals. As part of schemes in Barnsley, we can also provide social support for people living in the community based on each person’s hobbies and interests.
