About The Role
We are looking to recruit Support Workers within our residential care homes located in Pontypridd.
Job title: Support Worker/Carer
Locations: Pontypridd (CF37 & CF38 postcode)
Hours: Full time (40 hours per week) & part time, rostered to cover needs of the service
WE DO NOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP.
Job Summary:
To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
Qualifications, Training & Experience:
- Some work, personal or voluntary experience of supporting vulnerable people.
- Must be literate and numerate or be willing to work with Values in Care on attaining a basic level of skills.
- Must have or be willing to work towards a QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Full driving licence is desirable.

About The Service
Maes y Rhyddid is a 5-bedroom home set on the outskirts of Pontypridd in an ideal rural setting; surrounded by mountains, greenery and woodland.
The home boasts a generous outside space, which includes a large trampoline and basket style swing for the people we support to enjoy.
