We are recruiting for a Care Team Leader at our established residential service based in Sunderland. Successful candidates must have a proven track record of managing a team with residents with complex needs. Experience of caring for people with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, communication needs and other health needs including challenging behaviour would be beneficial.

Whilst fully embracing the company ethos, the Team Leader will support the service manager by leading the day-to-day management of a shift.
Responsibilities:- You will work in a pro-active, responsive, effective and person-centred way to ensure that the lives of the people you and the team are supporting are enriched, to be the best they are able.
- The team provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live.
- The Team Leader will provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower their team in supporting the people they support to achieve their goals and aspirations.
- You will be proactive and support the development and skills of Support Workers. This will include recruitment, induction, supervisions, annual appraisals, training, coaching, rota management, sickness and absence management.
- Take the lead to help Support Workers understand their responsibilities and by doing so ensure that safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led support and care is delivered at all times.
- You will complete evidence-based supervisions and observation supervisions as well as supporting your team of support workers to complete competency-based appraisals.
- Support the Manager in managing transitions into and away from the service. You will be able to liaise professionally with all outside professional agencies, and ensure that all information is shared appropriately.
- Ensure that all the people we support have person-centred support/care plans. You will be able to create and update these plans as per any changes that are required.
- To oversee and support the development of excellent quality within the service. You will design, develop and maintain excellent service user records, working in a supportive manner that empowers the service user to live their life in their chosen manner.
- You will be required to complete pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS.
