We are recruiting Support Workers/Carers in Barnsley to support people to live in and be part of the local community, within their own homes. Our services are about helping people to get out in the community and make the most of their time in their own homes. Whilst fully embracing the company ethos, support workers provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live. Support is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Hours: 12 hours per week (lone working)
Location: Barnsley
Shifts: Days, evenings, nights, weekends. Shift pattern is a rolling 2 week period:
- Week 1 rota: Wednesday 09.00-13.00; Thursday 10.30-15.00; Friday 10.30-14.30
- Week 2 rota: Monday 10.30-13.30; Saturday 10.30-14.30; Sunday 10.30-14.30
Responsibilities:
- Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
- Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
- General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
- As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
