Swanshurst is a large, outstanding school for girls aged 11-19 years. We offer excellent support and CPD for staff at all stages of their career. Ofsted (May 2024) described our school as "an exceptional place for pupils to learn" and praised the curriculum as "exemplary". The school has been judged "Outstanding" in two consecutive inspections. Swanshurst is part of the West Midlands Academy Trust (WMAT), founded in January 2025. We are seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher with a TLR for Deputy Head of Year to join our successful pastoral team.
Key Responsibilities- Work as a key member of the Year Team alongside the Head of Year.
- Oversee and promote excellent attendance across the year group.
- Provide pastoral care that contributes to pupil outcomes, attendance and punctuality.
- Maintain safeguarding and child protection arrangements in line with policy.
- Support the welfare and professional development of staff within the team.
- Strong TLR or equivalent for Deputy Head of Year.
- Experience in pastoral or school leadership roles.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and statutory duties.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
- Fluency in spoken and written English (essential for immigration compliance).
