Swanshurst is a large, outstanding schoolfor girls aged 11-19 years. We offer excellent support and CPD for staff at allstages of their career. Ofsted (May 2024) described our school to be "anexceptional place for pupils to learn". We arelooking to appoint an Administrator to work within the Year Teams as part ofthe school's pastoral admin structure.

Thesuccessful person will have very good IT skills particularly in Excel and otherMicrosoft Office packages. An appreciation of school management software e.g.SIMS, would be desirable but not essential, training will be given.

This isan exciting opportunity to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills, andto provide support to a Year Team as they carry out their complex and demandingrole.

Theposition requires strong communication skills, a flexible approach, high levelsof personal organisation and independent prioritisation of work. The successfulcandidate will be the holistic administrative support for a pastoral Year Team- supporting them to have outstanding impact. The role will include:

  • administrationofdaily and other periodic processes connected to attendance, punctuality,persistent absenteeism, pupil roll, admissions, reporting, parentalcommunication, reports and raising achievement
  • administrativeoversight of legal escalation procedures such as SPOTLIGHT, fixed penaltynotices for holidays during term time and referrals to local authorityintervention teams
  • producing datareports for the Head of Year
  • accuratedocumentation and record keeping including minute taking in parental meetings
  • accurate pupilfiling system management
  • management of theYear Team's diary
  • compiling andpreparing referral evidence to support leaders to work with external agencies

Thesuccessful candidate will support a Year Team in their direct work with pupilsand families and the life changing opportunities effective pastoral caresupports.

Extensivetraining, line management and mentoring will be provided.
