This role will provide administrative support to the Secure Anonymised Information Linkage (SAIL) Databank, a world‑leading repository of anonymised, person‑based data that enables population‑scale health research. The SAIL Databank securely holds billions of records derived from multiple data sources representing the population of Wales.

The Information Governance Review Panel (IGRP) offers independent guidance and oversight on information governance policies, procedures and processes within SAIL. The Panel reviews all proposals to access SAIL data, ensuring that they are appropriate and aligned with the public interest. It comprises representatives from a range of organisations and sectors.

The post-holder will coordinate the information governance review process for projects seeking access to SAIL data, as well as provide administrative support to the operation of the Panel. The role also includes administering the SAIL user onboarding process, including the processing of account requests for data access.

The role requires excellent organisational and time‑management skills, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively. The successful candidate will be able to work independently while also collaborating productively with colleagues across the team.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 – A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a one‑hour course.
