Responsibilities

About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Learn Welsh Swansea Bay Region (LWSBR) team, based within Academi Hywel Teifi at Swansea University. We are looking for a Welsh language tutor to help deliver high-quality Welsh courses to a wide range of adult learners.
You will teach across a variety of levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners, using a range of delivery methods. The role includes lessons that align with the Learn Welsh curriculum and may involve work with workplaces, families, and community groups. A significant part of the role involves encouraging learners to use Welsh beyond the classroom and supporting informal learning activities.
You will support the Welsh Government’s goal of increasing Welsh speakers by 2050 through engaging lessons, feedback, and learner confidence building. The role requires flexibility, with many courses in the evenings and occasional weekend commitments, and possible teaching across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.
Responsibilities also include lesson preparation, learner assessment, marketing and recruitment activities, as well as participation in team meetings and professional development. We are seeking someone with proven experience teaching Welsh to adults to a high standard, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine passion for empowering people to learn and use the language.

Welsh Language Skills
Welsh language level required for this role is Level 3 – Fluently.
