Overview
Teaching Assistant Level 2 - Grade 4pt 5-6 (30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, term-time only) equates to 5 days a week, pro rata. The Governors are seeking to appoint temporary part‑time Teaching Assistants (30 hours per week) to start as soon as possible working in the ALN department within Bishop Gore School. The posts will be temporary until 31 August 2027 in the first instance.
Responsibilities
Teaching Assistants provide a high level of learning support and guidance to pupils with varying degrees of ALN. They support pupils in mainstream classes, providing support to the class teachers and helping to adapt lessons according to each child’s learning needs. The role requires flexibility and readiness to cater to individual learning needs. This post has a First Aid responsibility. Training will be provided.
Qualifications
The minimum qualification required is a Level 2 or equivalent standard in literacy, numeracy and IT skills. Applicants should be able to relate well with young people and have a good understanding of child development and the learning process. Experience in a similar role is strongly desirable but not essential.
