An opportunity has arisen for a Full Time (37 hrs) Procurement Officer post within our busy Service Procurement Team.

Commercial Services is a key part of the Finance Directorate and plays a leading role in ensuring that when Swansea Council buys goods, services, works or consultancy it does so at the best price possible and that the products or services received are of a high quality.

The role we are seeking to fulfil - a Procurement Officer - is a senior procurement role and will support on certain categories of spend across the Authority supporting all Services achieve their procurement goals.

The Public Sector is governed by rigorous legal obligations that it needs to comply with when contracting with suppliers, so in addition to commercial acumen and procurement skills and experience, a knowledge of the UK Procurement Act is also required.

This is a permanent Full time position of 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
