We want to support Swansea schools' leaders to drive improvement by:

  • developing a high-quality education profession;
  • working collaboratively to raise standards;
  • providing a curriculum to focus on excellence, well-being & equity;
  • supporting robust evaluation within a self-improving system.

The successful candidate will fulfil the role of school improvement adviser for schools in Swansea and will work closely with wider teams across local authorities to:

  • contribute to Swansea Council's support to school leaders and governing bodies;
  • work effectively with Partneriaeth and other key delivery partners in developing support for professional learning, including leadership development and ongoing curriculum review.

Responsibilities

  • Provide school improvement leadership and contribute to education improvement across Swansea's Welsh-medium schools.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Candidates should be a headteacher/senior leader from successful schools and/or have recent demonstrable success as an education improvement professional.

  • The post will commence on 1 January 2026 (or as soon as possible) and is a permanent post.
  • Salary: £66,724 - £70,009 (+3SPA) per year.
