Overview
£40,777 – £45,091 per year. This is a permanent role working 37 hours a week. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Drainage Engineer to join the Highways Maintenance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing flood risk across the City and County of Swansea, ensuring the delivery of statutory duties under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and the Flood Risk Regulations 2009.
Responsibilities
- Progress the Authority\’s Flood Risk Management Plan and develop technical engineering solutions to mitigate flooding in vulnerable communities.
- Oversee the delivery of the Highway Drainage Capital Programme, ensuring projects are completed within budget and to specification.
- Provide expert technical advice on drainage proposals, including formal approvals and consents, and act as a consultant on drainage matters for developers, internal departments, and other risk management authorities.
