An Exciting Opportunity has arisen to work within Whitethorns Intensive Day Service.

  • We are looking for a Day Support Worker (28 hours per week)
  • The service offers day opportunities for people with learning disabilities that require intensive interaction and positive behaviour support.
  • The team support people to maintain their independence & skills, whilst promoting good health & wellbeing.

This is how we will help you learn to do a great job and just a few things that may matter to you.

  • You will be part of a well established team.
  • You will be supported to do the right training, with the right support and gain the relevant understanding knowledge and skills for the role.
  • You will receive a thorough & paid induction that includes working alongside others within the team who will help you learn about the role.
  • You will receive regular supervision and guidance to help you along the way, offering you support and encouragement in your new role.
  • A NVQ / QCF level 2 in care or a commitment to work towards this is essential, as is a good standard of education. There will be an expectation that you complete the All Wales Induction Framework (AWIF).
  • Other benefits include the Excellent rate of pay, as well as an Excellent annual leave entitlement.
  • Support will be required 4 days per week – out of a Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday and a Friday – 7 hours per day x 4. You will also be required to work flexible hours, usually between 07.30am and 4.30pm including a 30-minute rest break during your shift.
  • You will also be expected to work at other day services when required. You will require a good level of fitness to effectively support a young and energetic client group in walking, swimming and other physically challenging activities.
