This role leads the Council's work on equality, human rights, Welsh language, consultation and engagement, ensuring statutory duties are delivered consistently and effectively across services. The post holder will manage a small multidisciplinary team, provide practical advice and support to colleagues, and contribute to the development and delivery of corporate strategies and reports.

As Strategy Development Team Leader, you'll be at the centre of some of the Council's most meaningful corporate work. You'll lead the coordination and delivery of key strategies covering equality, human rights, Welsh language, consultation and co-production, helping ensure that what the Council commits to on paper is reflected in how services are planned, delivered and improved.
This is a role where you can see the impact of your work across the organisation and out into communities. You'll work closely with colleagues across services, supporting them with clear advice, practical tools and constructive challenge. A big part of the job is making complex things understandable - translating legislation, guidance and policy into approaches that officers can actually use, and helping the organisation get better at engaging people in decisions that affect them.
The role includes managing a small multidisciplinary team and line managing the Head of the Welsh Translation Unit, supporting the delivery of high-quality bilingual services and helping to strengthen the use of Welsh in policy, communications and engagement activity. You'll also contribute to corporate reporting and governance, and provide cover and support within the wider Corporate Planning and Performance team when needed.
This is a varied, people-focused role that suits someone who enjoys balancing thinking and doing, working collaboratively, and navigating the realities of a political and public-facing environment - without losing sight of values, purpose and quality.
