The post holder will be responsible for:
- Maintaining the main Radiotherapy treatment IT systems (hardware and software), including networked linear accelerator control systems, servers, workstations, database and backups.
- Day‑to‑day running of the Radiotherapy related IT‑based patient planning and management system/network, including database and backup management, server and workstation maintenance.
- Testing, calibrating, and diagnosing faults and effecting repairs to component level with the aid of service manuals, circuit diagrams, and specialist tools on highly complex equipment and systems under the pressure for patient treatment continuity.
- Interpreting technical information at a highly complex level when liaising with manufacturer engineers and at an end‑user level when liaising with non‑technical staff.
- Providing specialist advice to professional colleagues regarding associated medical equipment and devices, and possessing the knowledge to differentiate between technical and clinical problems.
- Designing modifications for medical equipment within the radiotherapy or nuclear medicine services to meet technical specifications.
- Maintaining the overall functionality of the Radiotherapy treatment department.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Maintain contemporary awareness of ionising radiation regulations and practice within the scope of those regulations.
- Maintain contemporary awareness of electrical regulations regarding medical devices and practice within the scope of those regulations.
Language Requirements:
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
