Overview
We are looking for a Locum Consultant Anaesthetist with an interest in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Critical Care. The role involves setting up thoracic surgical services for the proposed Single Centre for Adult Thoracic Surgery, including 1000-1300 cases per annum with a projected 20% increase.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency and elective anaesthesia for cardiothoracic surgery and minimally invasive procedures for the population of SBUHB.
- Deliver anaesthetic care to the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit.
- Commit to the 1 in 8 Cardiac On‑Call Rota at Morriston Hospital.
- Provide on‑call care for patients on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU).
- Administer anaesthetic care for emergency cardiothoracic operations and cardiac revascularisations.
- Support the cardiac on‑call resident doctor.
