We are recruiting two DCT 2 posts in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Successful candidates will commence on 2nd September 2026 and finish on 30th August 2027. Working pattern is a 7‑week cycle (1:7) rotating through operating theatres, outpatient activities (including treatment sessions), day‑case theatre, ward and on‑call duties. Residents out of hours on call are based at Morriston Hospital and the on‑call commitment involves a split between weekdays and weekend days or nights on a rolling rota.
Responsibilities
- Attend outpatient clinics and treatment sessions across all clinical areas of OMFS.
- Participate in theatre sessions and develop surgical skills appropriate to your level.
- Work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary Clinical Team under the supervision of an OMFS middle grade and Consultant.
- Contribute to quality improvement projects and clinical audits.
- Pursue research opportunities.
- Collaborate with partner organisations, statutory and voluntary, and maintain links with local General Practitioners.
Qualifications
Essential
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Completion of a UK Dental Core Training Year 1 programme or equivalent by the time of post commencement.
- Demonstrable written and spoken English skills adequate for effective communication with patients and colleagues, as assessed by the General Dental Council.
Desirable
- Evidence of research participation.
- Portfolio containing evidence of progression and development of clinical skills and professional development.
