Overview
To work as a member of the Children\’s Community Nursing Team at SBUHB delivering care in a community-based setting that can include the homes of children and young people, educational settings or other community environments where children and young people may be at any given time. There may also be occasions where care may need to be delivered in hospital settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide delegated nursing care to an identified group of children and young people with complex health care needs.
- Deliver care in accordance with agreed plans of care, respond to changes in need, evaluate care and report any changes or concerns to The Community Children\’s Nursing Team.
- Maintain a flexible approach to work and the ability to travel, in a timely manner, across the whole SBUHB Children\\\’s community team to deliver care where required.
- Work primarily night shifts (22:00–07:00) with duty times that may vary slightly between these ranges, with rotation to day care packages as rostered.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Level 3 NVQ/QSF Health or Child Care qualification, or possess skills, knowledge and experience to equivalent level.
- Prepared to commit to begin this qualification within 3 months of commencing in the role.
- Flexible approach to travel across the SBUHB Children\\\’s community team to deliver care where required.
