The predicted salary is between 46300 - 52800 £ per year.

The post holder will support the management and delivery of training and education, the SWTN governance process, and the nursing component, while promoting positive relationships across the South Wales Trauma Network (SWTN). This senior, visible leadership role is part of the Operational Delivery Network (ODN) leadership team, contributing to the efficient day‑to‑day running of the network and leading key areas of service delivery, improvement and education.

Responsibilities

  • You will collaborate closely with clinical teams, health boards, and wider stakeholders to ensure services are delivered safely and consistently, in line with agreed standards and strategic priorities.
  • Acting as a deputy to the Network Manager when required, you will drive forward network initiatives, manage projects, and embed best practice across organisations.
  • The role places a strong focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • You will lead and support service improvement programmes, challenge existing practices, promote evidence‑based care, and oversee clinical governance processes, performance monitoring and the translation of learning from feedback, incidents and audits into meaningful change.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Registered Nurse Level 1 or appropriate active NMC Registration
  • Recognised management qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Educated to Degree level
  • Extensive knowledge of the South Wales Trauma Network and forthcoming agenda
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults/Children including the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Knowledge of quality and service improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of current policy and issues in professional practice, compliance, standards and the wider NHS
  • Experience working in a Major Trauma Network setting
  • Experience of delivering training packages to staff
  • Experience of staff and service management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and negotiate effectively across health boards and partner organisations at a strategic level
  • Experience of managing change
  • Able to demonstrate situations where effective leadership and management skills have been used
  • Be able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to author and deliver successful training packages concerning major trauma
  • Ability to provide bespoke training to network member organisations as required
  • Evidence of delivering presentations to multidisciplinary groups
  • Team working: ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual and multidisciplinary basis with all levels of staff, take time to listen, understand and involve people, receptive to appropriate change
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, clinical staff and other agencies
  • Leadership: ability to take responsibility and demonstrate leadership
