An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Clerk/Receptionist to join our team within the Outpatient department Neath Port Talbot Hospital. The successful candidate will provide administrative/reception support to facilitate the smooth, efficient and effective running of outpatient clinics, greeting patients, attending and appointing appointments on WPAS, handling of patient notes and tracking of notes on IFIT, accurate data entry on WPAS and delivering notes to secretaries.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Provision of administrative/reception support to facilitate the smooth, efficient and effective running of outpatient clinics.
  • Greeting patients and processing referrals into the service.
  • Ensuring that referrals are recorded on the CANISC system.

Current experience of working in a fast-paced busy reception environment is desirable. Applicants must share the Values and Behaviours of Swansea Bay University Health Board.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities include:

  • Qualifications: Level 2 or equivalent demonstrable experience/knowledge in Business Administration or similar.
  • Desirable criteria: Customer Service qualification L2.
  • Knowledge: Ability to use Microsoft Office e.g. word/excel and virtual platforms e.g. Teams etc.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Aptitude and Abilities: Ability to prioritise and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
