The post holder will be part of the inpatient and day patient catering and domestic duties to ensure the department provides services in line with process and Infection Prevention Control (IPC) guidelines and policy, delivering a high-quality, efficient service that fulfils the needs of the department in accordance with service level agreements.
Responsibilities
- Regeneration of food and delivery and return of regeneration trolleys to and from the kitchen.
- Cleaning areas such as wards, kitchens and equipment.
- General domestic duties as required by the service.
- Prepare and cook special dietary meals and snacks for patients (e.g., Neutropenic, CCU).
- Regeneration of foods in line with cook-chill/cook-freeze guidelines, including delivery and return of regenerated food to/from the kitchen.
- Prepare and assemble crockery, cutlery and utensils for each patient meal service and butter bread; clear and wash all crockery, cutlery, glasses, etc., using an appropriate dishwasher and detergent.
- General cleaning duties including vacuuming soft floor coverings, cleaning hard floors (static/mop/damp/mop), buffing, spray cleaning and scrubbing; high- and low-level dusting; drying/damp furniture and fixtures; emptying bins and glass cleaning.
- Occasionally clean body fluids and spills in all public areas as required.
