We are in search of a candidate who can deliver a compassionate high-quality care while working within our talented, friendly and dynamic nursing and clinical team. This enthusiastic individual should have a passion for acute medical nursing and should have the ability to be flexible and embrace new upcoming challenges within a highly demanding diverse work environment.

Additionally, applicants will need to demonstrate various characteristic skills such as professional leadership and communication skills, motivation and inspiration to all members within the unit especially as an example to the junior staff you will be leading.

There may be the options to support part-time hours, this can be discussed if shortlisted at interview.

  • Competent in Manchester Triage, Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse – Acute Medicine

The Acute Medical Unit is a dedicated front of house facility with an integrated trolley-based Assessment Unit and a new Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit. Supported by integrated diagnostics, therapies and pharmacy hubs. This is designed to give people better access to emergency care and cut through long waiting lists and aims to minimise the length of stay for patients (target being 48 hours).

The acute medical workforce is currently being expanded to meet the service redesign changes. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the running and establishment of the Acute Medical Unit consisting of an assessment unit, short stay unit and Same Day Emergency Care.

You will play a vital role as part of the multidisciplinary in conjunction with the senior sister in embedding a new team together by providing visible, professional nursing leadership, support, supervision and guidance (in line with NMC standards), expert clinical advice and undertake management and monitoring activities in line with legal and professional requirements, statutory rules and Health Board policies relating to evidence-based practice

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
