An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a Clinical Lead Physiotherapy post in the Mental Health Team, SBU HB. The team covers MH In-patient areas across two main sites together with several community teams.
You will provide leadership, support, supervision, and mentorship to staff whilst liaising with Heads of Service from both Therapies and Mental Health Directorates.
The post holder will be responsible for delivery, standards, and policy implementation within the team. Excellent communication skills are essential, especially when working with a patient cohort that has profound communication difficulties, as well as communicating professional managerial issues to service managers.
There is a significant clinical component within this role, including providing advice on the management of highly complex patients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, delivering, managing, and evaluating physiotherapy services across the patient pathway, from acute settings to rehabilitation, outpatient, outreach, and community-based therapy.
- Ensuring physiotherapy provision is evidence-based and aligns with recognized best practices.
- Ensuring adherence to the Health Board and Departmental Clinical Governance agenda.
- Maintaining compliance with all relevant performance indicators and datasets.
- Leading in service re-design initiatives across SBUHB.
- Contributing clinical physiotherapy expertise.
- Representing the Physiotherapy Service at SBUHB meetings.
- Participating in National and International forums as a highly specialist resource for other therapy, nursing, and medical professionals.
- Developing and implementing strategies to meet local and national priorities and ensuring quality care across the patient pathway.
- Delivering specialist training and providing individual development programs tailored to clinical experience and expertise.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
