Designer 7:30am 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday - 4 day working week!

Full Time Permanent Role, 40 hours per week, based in Wimborne

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Designer to join our client's specialist team, creating high-quality bespoke products for a diverse range of clients.

This is a varied and hands-on role where no two projects are the same, offering the opportunity to take concepts from initial design through to manufacture and final delivery.

Working closely with clients and production teams, you'll play a key role in bringing unique ideas to life while ensuring the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

The Designer is responsible for transforming client concepts into fully detailed, manufacturing-ready drawing packages, complete with costed Bills of Materials (BOMs).

The role ensures designs are accurately developed, managed through production, and inspected prior to delivery to ensure they meet client requirements and quality standards.

  • Role Requirements:-
  • Assess technical feasibility in collaboration with senior craftsmen and the Workshop Manager.
  • Produce technical drawings for clients and detailed job packs for the production team.
  • Develop material specifications alongside production and purchasing teams.
  • Liaise regularly with production teams to ensure the accuracy and quality of finished products.
  • Process design amendments and update drawings and Bills of Materials accordingly.
  • Carry out inspections of completed products prior to delivery.
  • Act as the designated designer for an allocated range of products.
  • Ensure projects are thoroughly developed before entering production and are managed through to completion.
  • Project Management
  • Manage projects accurately and efficiently throughout the business.
  • Coordinate job allocation with the Project Coordinator and Workshop Manager.
  • Monitor and prioritise design schedules to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Support and manage members of the design team, ensuring adherence to company procedures.
  • Review work completed by team members prior to presentation to clients.
  • Client Engagement
  • Attend client design meetings and provide technical input where required.
  • Ensure designs fulfil client briefs while remaining commercially viable and within budget.

  • Produce accurate and efficient designs that meet client expectations and manufacturing requirements.
  • Ensure all projects are fully developed and effectively managed from concept through to final inspection.
