About the Role

Reporting to the Estimating & Sales Manager, you will support the special structures department in preparing quotations for a variety of steelwork enquiries and preparation of technical and commercial proposals for tendering purposes. You may occasionally attend business meetings but primarily work within the office to quantify steel work from drawing packages.

Responsibilities

  • Working from technical drawings and specifications to deliver effective pricing estimations of steelwork enquiries for the special projects team.
  • Read technical drawings and specifications to produce accurate take offs.
  • Liaise with both internal and external resources (where appropriate) to ensure accuracy of tender pricing models.
  • Assist when needed with tender governance meetings.
  • Produce and maintain tender response, pricing, and compliance documentation.
  • Where required, support sales heads attendance at meetings with customers, and participation in engineering and commercial discussions.
  • Assist when needed with handing over successful tenders to the operational delivery team.

Experience required

  • Experience in working in a structural and construction sector.

Required Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skill set and Microsoft package.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Competent with the use of web browsing tools for online research purposes.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and organised individual with initiative.
