Main Purpose of the Job
As a Telecommunications Infrastructure and Inspection Engineer you will be required to set up the rigging equipment, operate heavy machinery to erect and install structures and equipment and dismantle rigging after the job. The Telecommunications Infrastructure and Inspection Engineer will also be required to attend site surveys and climb down inspections, to support the wider business with site work and installation of steelwork and generally to complete tasks agreed by the business with our clients relating to the building and maintenance of steel structures. The Telecommunications Infrastructure and Inspection Engineer are also required to communicate with the lead team member and to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations are always adhered to. The role of the Telecommunications Infrastructure and Inspection Engineer is a UK based role and regular travel and stay aways is required.
Main Duties
- Inspect and prepare loads that need to be moved
- Ground based inspections
- Climbing inspections
- Ground based works including drilling and civils work
- Monitor and maintain rigging equipment
- Tower assembly
- Loading and unloading of deliveries on site
- General duties associated with climbing and working at height on antenna mast and tower support structures
- Installation of feeder support systems and TX link supports
- Manoeuvre loads using heavy equipment machinery by hand
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
- Communicate with the rigging team
- Breaking down rigging equipment and conducting post rigging inspections
Qualifications
- Certificate for working at heights
- IPAF/First aid at height/Site Access systems/Slinger Signaller
Relevant experience
- Able to climb and work safely at height
- Experience working in the telecommunications industry
- In depth knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery
- Reading, understanding and writing RAMS, SSOW and SOW.
Aptitude, skills and abilities
- Basic medical and fitness requirements – examination is required
- Good communication and team building skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work at heights and noisy environments
Personal attributes
- Full UK Driving Licence
