Swann Engineering Group have an opportunity for a Graduate Engineer. You will be working as part of a focused multidiscipline civil and structural design team, working on a variety of projects from telecommunications/radar towers, residential buildings to large bespoke advertising structures. This is a varied and interesting role, you’ll gain exposure to manufacturing and product development. Training and support will be provided to enhance your career up to and including Chartered status, through the company’s ICE approved training scheme.
Main Duties
- Assisting with design and project management of outdoor media structures
- Completing assessments of telecom structures for new and revised loading conditions
- Undertaking design of steelwork strengthening solutions
- Undertaking foundations designs for telecoms, outdoor media, and other related structures
- Completing structural surveys and inspections on site including climbing surveys of telecom structures
- Providing technical support to the company’s commercial building’s team as required
- Developing new and improved processes for the technical team
- Producing engineering drawings as required
- Developing budgets costs and implementing minor works
- Attending client meetings as required
About you – what you will need:
- BSc/BEng (Hons) or MSc/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to apply academic theories to real-world, practical scenarios
- Ability to present technical designs clearly and justify decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Driver’s licence is essential
The role is based in Southampton and you’ll be working Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30.
