You’ll need to be able to craft fantastic user experience across all aspects of a brand’s online presence, always looking to improve on what’s gone before. It would be of particular interest to us if the candidate also has experience with brand design. We are interested in hearing from designers with a broad range of experience, but with a clear indication of excellent design ideation & delivery in their portfolio, as well as a warm, clear client-facing manner and ability to build rapport.
What we’re looking for:
- At least 3-4 years’ experience working in ecommerce design.
- An excellent knowledge of Shopify.
- A strong portfolio of design work, relevant to e-commerce front-end.
- A keen eye for typography, layout, colour theory and a passion for producing highly creative work.
- Proficiency in using Figma.
- Excellent problem solving skills with an open, flexible and growth mindset.
- Ambitious, industrious, can-do attitude with strong interpersonal skills, able to work well within a team.
- An ability to communicate well with clients at a high level, helping them to understand your designs and building rapport.
- A keen interest in e-commerce, social media and digital marketing platforms & tools.
- Knowledge in designing responsive, mobile first websites.
Desirable:
- A portfolio of creative brand design applied to ecommerce.
- Hands on experience of manipulating Shopify themes.
- More advanced understanding of Figma setups: variables, design tokens, responsive layouts and animation techniques.
- Experience with animation platforms such as Lottie & Adobe After Effects.
- End-to-end e-commerce project design delivery, from discovery, to wire-framing, high-fidelity designs and visual QA after development.
- Relevant experience in an agency or in-house and/or a degree in digital media or design (or similar).
What you’ll be doing:
- Creating user personas, user journeys and site maps, using wireframes and prototypes to develop user experiences across multiple platforms and devices.
- Designing high-fidelity e-commerce sites for a wide range of brands, from funded startups to established domestic and international brands across fashion, tech and FMCG.
- Branding new and existing companies.
- Strategically devising and designing ways to improve user experience, revenue and brand interaction for our clients.
- Meeting with clients alongside project managers and developers to gather requirements and attending regular meetings throughout the course of a project, presenting concepts and working collaboratively with our team and the client towards objectives.
- Communicating with project teams in order to deliver world-class e-commerce stores.
- Sharing and implementing ideas with the rest of our wonderful designers, developers and strategists.
Benefits:
- We invest in our team and aim to assist in growing and nurturing your skills.
- Salary competitive depending on experience.
- 30 days holiday per year inclusive of bank holidays, plus 1 additional day per full year served, capped at 5.
- Flexible working hours during the day.
- Beautiful Exeter-based offices for those based in the South-West of the UK (but this can be a fully-remote role for the right candidate).
- Employee Assistant Programme with 24/7 access to services.
- MacBook Pro (or your preferred choice of tech).
- Working with dynamic, creative and growing clients on fun, challenging and often high-profile projects.
- Opportunity for occasional travel to client meetings and conferences.
- Be part of an inspiring, growing, highly collaborative and ambitious team, with opportunities to progress.
