Overview
Engineering Apprenticeship for a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician at Swancote Energy. 3-year structured apprenticeship delivering Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician qualification, in partnership with In-Comm Training Services. Start date: September 2025. Location: Oldbury/Birmingham area, UK. 40 hours per week with a pattern of 2.5 days at college and 2.5 days in the workplace. Onsite hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm. Salary: £8.77 per hour (Year 1).
Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of plant machinery and equipment.
- Support senior engineers with electrical, mechanical, and control system tasks.
- Gain experience working on pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, control panels, PLCs, soft starters, and instrumentation.
- Learn how to work safely within an anaerobic digestion and energy recovery plant environment.
- Document and record all tasks using the company CMMS – MaintMaster.
- Help perform preventive maintenance routines to prevent equipment breakdowns.
- Complete structured training assignments and attend block-release training sessions with In-Comm.
