EniProgetti UK operates a SmartWorking policy allowing personnel to work for up to 12 working days/month from home or a similar secure location and these 12 days can be available even where personnel are on leave for a portion of the month. As such, typically around 60% of time working remotely is available for individuals who wish to take advantage of this.
Role Overview
A Flow Assurance Engineer is required to support Eni’s worldwide oil and gas projects providing technical leadership within the Flow Assurance discipline. They will be part of the Eni project engineering group based in Basingstoke (UK) and support the Flow Assurance activities in the different phases of the project, from feasibility to Basic/FEED and along the execution phase for the several new upcoming or ongoing initiatives within Eni group. The role may also be required to support Flow Assurance activities for Eni’s CCUS projects. Activities will include the assessment and definition of CO₂ transportation systems, evaluation of operating envelopes, and support to studies related to flow assurance challenges specific to CO₂ transport and associated thermohydraulic behaviour.
The main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- To prepare all the technical documentation related to Flow Assurance activities during the different phases of the Project, such as Conceptual Study, FEED, Tender and Contract package preparation, detailed engineering, and Operations.
- To follow up Supplier Call for Tender & Selection (qualifications, clarifications, recommendations, etc.) when applicable for Flow Assurance discipline.
- To review and approve FEED, Tender and Detailed Engineering performed by Contractors when applicable for Flow Assurance discipline.
- Provide technical support to interface disciplines (Pipelines/Subsea, Process/Facilities, Operations) to ensure integrated solutions.
- Support operations and start-up/commissioning troubleshooting as required.
- To be responsible for their flow assurance activities and those of the Flow Assurance team they work in as PDL.
- Teamwork and collaboration with other colleagues in the Subsea Systems department, and especially within the Flow Assurance discipline.
- To liaise with other Engineering disciplines during Project execution phase.
- Manage interfaces with Reservoir and Laboratories.
- Perform the technical and administrative function of the PDL on complex Projects.
- Support the Flow Assurance Coordinator and the Chief of Subsea Systems in the preparation of manhour estimates for new proposals.
- Proactively highlight to Flow Assurance Coordinator and the Chief of Subsea Systems and estimate any variation of manhours and schedule on a Project due to a change in the scope of work.
- Awareness of International Standards & Codes.
- Advise on correct interpretation and application of Company internal standards and HSEQ policies and develop new ones as required.
- Mentor Engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Extensive experience as a Flow Assurance Engineer throughout the various phases of project development (from concept development to execution) and handover to operations. Specialized knowledge required:
- Graduate-level knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
- Ability to identify, define, and analyse complex multiphase hydrocarbon transportation schemes.
- Capability to perform technical review of Flow Assurance documentation prepared by team members, guaranteeing technical accuracy and full compliance with applicable standards, best practices, and work instructions.
- Proficient usage of the following software: OLGA, PVTSim, Multiflash, Pipenet, Pipesim, Hysys, Unisim.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Matlab, C++ and Python is an added benefit.
Organizational processes required:
- Experience with Technical Audit and Design & Safety Reviews, HAZOP, HAZID’s, Risk Assessment.
- Ability to effectively interface and communicate with other staff, outside flow assurance specialists, shareholders, contractors, and management.
- Ability to communicate well, literally, and vertically within the organization.
- Full understanding of importance in planning and executing projects.
- Ability to identify the need for and manage the integration of HSE and technical risk processes into engineering and project solutions.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with other disciplines due to multidisciplinary approach to Projects.
- Ability to handle highly complex and diverse assignments while applying a high level of independent judgment.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Task prioritisation interpersonal skills and excellent engineering judgement.
Desirable experience:
- Operational Experience.
- Experience in CCUS projects is considered a plus.
