An amazing opportunity has arisen with Swan Family, for a Child and Family Contact Supervisor to work in our Redhill Children and Family Contact Centre. Currently Saturdays only needed. The successful candidate will be joining a very dynamic team delivering a crucial service to families.
In this challenging but highly rewarding role, you will be responsible for co-ordinating and supervising family time between children and their birth families at contact centres and also out and about within the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:- You will complete a detailed recording of the observations you made during these sessions and will liaise with social workers, escalating any concerns, as required.
- Transport and escort children and young people.
- Observe and supervise contact between children, young persons and parents, including other family members.
- Risk managing and intervening as necessary to safeguard children.
- You will have good report writing skills to factually describe observations within the contact session within the agreed time scale.
- To attend and participate in planning meetings or reviews, as required.
- To follow safeguarding procedures of Swan Family and its clients at all times.
- To report any safeguarding concerns promptly.
- To attend supervision and training courses in relation to the tasks, as required.
- NVQ level 3 in children and young people workforce or related fields integral.
- A current DBS for working with adults and children - we can assist you.
- A driving licence and access to a car is desirable but not essential.
We are looking for contact supervisors who are able to understand the importance of child-centred services that make a difference to the families we work with. It is important that candidates are empathetic, have good communication skills and are non-judgemental in their practices. This role is ideal for social work students or those looking to pursue a career in social care.
